About the fragrance
“The smell of amber, the base of classic oriental perfumes, has long been enriched with vanilla and sandalwood, decorated with spices, propped up with musk, made seductive and ready to wear, and we have all got used to it, but that is not amber's first incarnation. Perfume means ‘through smoke’ — the name comes from the aromatic materials that were burned to purify the air, and the spirit along with it. L'Air du Desert Marocain is the creation of the talented self-taught perfumer Andy Tauer. There is something special about the smell of ancient incense (styrax, frankincense). Even without knowing the name of this fragrance, breathing it in I would still feel the calm I experienced only once, when one morning I drove through the deserts of the American Southwest: complete silence, no human presence, the upturned bowl of the sky infinitely high above me, only sage and quail above the brown earth. Every single object seemed overflowing with itself, filled to the brim, ready to spill at the slightest jolt. Wear this scent and you will feel the cloudless sky soaring above you.”
