Andy Tauer

Names: Andy Tauer (English, German) · Енді Тауер (Ukrainian) · Энди Тауэр (Russian)
Born: 1960s, Switzerland
Specialization: independent self-taught perfumer, founder and sole author of Tauer Perfumes (Zurich)
He grew up in a small medieval village on the banks of the Rhine. The son of a pharmacist, he earned a doctorate in chemistry and worked in IT for a long time, creating perfumes as a hobby. In 2005 he released his first fragrances under his own label, among them L'Air du Désert Marocain — the critics Luca Turin and Tania Sanchez placed it alongside the classic Shalimar. To this day he creates every fragrance himself, from the idea to the formula.
Tauer's fragrances are recognised from the first breath: complex, emotional and very long-lasting. He loves contrasts — smoke next to flowers, spices next to transparent freshness. His compositions always contain a journey: boundless deserts, dusty roads, the coolness of mountain peaks. His rich, slightly nostalgic and impeccably detailed style has made him a cult figure of niche perfumery.
