A memory fragrance inspired by the perfumer's personal recollection: “the sharp, musky and slightly smoky smell of a felled massive oak” that grew in front of his house. The name “Samarkand” pays tribute to the city through which spice caravans passed. The composition combines fiery pepper with a soft, mossy note of oak, creating a refined, dry and elegant woody profile.

About the fragrance
Hermessence Poivre Samarcande is inspired by one of perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena's memories: “An oak tree grew in front of my house. In time it had to be cut down. The peppery, musky and slightly smoky scent of the felled tree has stayed in my memory for ever.”
Woody and bright, Poivre Samarcande offers fiery black pepper softened by smooth, mossy oak. Hermessence suits both men and women.
