Yunnan is a mountainous province in southern China where the famous “red” (black, in European terms) tea is grown. The best grades contain many golden downy buds, which make the infusion especially smooth.
Yunnan tea sounds malty and honeyed: warm brewed leaves, a light caramel, dried fruit and a faintly spicy depth, without bitterness. It adds a golden, cosy warmth to a fragrance.
