shi_sõ is a strikingly modern take on the classic eau de Cologne genre, in which citrus is replaced by a kaleidoscope of green notes. It includes a piquant sting of cardamom, a sprig of cool mint, lemon verbena, tart blackcurrant, soapy almond anise, sour rhubarb and Glycolierral®, which wraps the blend in a sweet, milky, juicy effect. The Glycolierral® molecule conveys the cool scent of crushed ivy leaves.

About the fragrance
The molecule: Glycolierral®
Although fragrance chemistry cannot yet say “green” in as many ways as nature, today its varied palette goes far beyond “grass” or “Granny Smith”. Givaudan's herbaceous Glycolierral®, for example, captures the cool scent of crushed ivy leaves — hence the name Givaudan gave the molecule, from the French word for ivy, lierre.
THE SCENT: Think green. Say the word with a long “o” — Shisõ — and in Japanese it means “modern thinking”. With a short “o” it rolls off the tongue along with the unique, complex scent of shiso leaves. Shiso is an iconic herb of Japanese cuisine, rarely used in perfumery. But its smell — a mix of mint, basil and cumin with a metallic shade — has long fascinated Bertrand Duchaufour. In shi_sõ he turns it into a strikingly modern interpretation of a classic genre — the cologne, replacing citrus notes with a kaleidoscope of green notes. The piquant sharpness of cardamom. A sprig of cool mint. Lemon verbena. Tart blackcurrant. Soapy almond anise. Sour rhubarb. Glycolierral® wraps this invigorating blend in a sweet, milky, juicy effect.
