Stéphane Humbert Lucas

Names: Stéphane Humbert Lucas (English, French) · Стефан Юмбер Люка (Ukrainian, Russian)
Born: 6 October 1971, Épinal, France
Specialization: artist and perfumer, founder of the house Stéphane Humbert Lucas 777 (Paris)

An artist and poet: he studied tempera painting in Antibes under a master of the Flemish school, then refined his skills in the class of the sculptor Jean Cardot in Montparnasse. He came to perfumery to fill with scent the galleries where his paintings were exhibited: in his Paris shop on rue Quincampoix he combined perfumes and engravings. He studied with the niche perfumer Henri Sorsana, created the Nez à Nez series, and in 2012, inspired by his travels in the East, released the 777 collection — for him the number seven symbolises spirituality, protection and luck.

Humbert Lucas creates fragrances the way a painter creates canvases: rich, many-layered, luxurious. For him the East is the cradle of civilisation, which is why the 777 compositions sound with oud, frankincense, rose, saffron and resins, generously and festively. These are treasure perfumes — dense and deep, with enormous longevity and a sense of mystery.
