Born in Jordan, she spent her youth between Jordan and Morocco — among the spices and flowers that became her lasting inspiration. She first worked in business management and tourism, but after thirty she felt her true calling and went to study perfumery at the Cinquième Sens school in Paris — at first out of curiosity, then with passion. In 2012 she founded her own house in Paris, Rania J, where she creates modern, sensual fragrances from natural materials.

Jouaneh unites the warmth of the East and Africa with Parisian refinement. Her fragrances are sensual, sunny and very natural: spices, flowers, resins and woods sound soft and modern in her hands. For Kajal she created Almaz — a radiant, luxurious fragrance that shimmers like a gemstone.
