Nathalie Lorson

Names: Nathalie Lorson (English, French) · Наталі Лорсон (Ukrainian) · Натали Лорсон (Russian)
Born: Grasse, France
Specialization: master perfumer at Firmenich (since 2000); author of fragrances for Amouage, YSL, Giorgio Armani, Jil Sander, Olfactive Studio
Born in Grasse, she studied at the Roure perfumery school, where her father worked as a chemist — in the 1980s women in the profession were rare, and she became one of the pioneers. In 1987 she joined IFF, and since 2000 she has worked at Firmenich. Over more than thirty years she has created fragrances for designer and niche houses, among them Black Opium for YSL (as co-author), one of the most successful launches of 2014. In 2015 she was named “Perfumer of the Year” in France and Italy.
Lorson is a master of expressive, confident compositions that you like from the first breath. She knows how to make a fragrance both modern and timeless: coffee, vanilla, white flowers, fresh accords and woods sound bright, juicy and very long-lasting in her hands. For Amouage she shows the noble, deep side of her talent.
