He grew up in rural England and from childhood was fascinated by natural scents — wild flowers, damp earth after rain. He studied chemistry and then devoted himself to the art of fragrance — now for more than five decades. He lives in the picturesque Cotswolds and owns the Cotswold Perfumery — a traditional British perfume shop creating bespoke fragrances of the highest level; his clients include the British aristocracy. He created the entire first line of Boadicea the Victorious, notably Energizer (2008), and is still responsible for the brand's quality and production.
