Calice Becker

Names: Calice Becker (English, French) · Каліс Беккер (Ukrainian) · Калис Беккер (Russian)
Born: around 1964, Paris, France
Specialization: master perfumer at Givaudan, since 2017 — director of the Givaudan perfumery school; author of J'adore for Dior and of fragrances for Kilian Paris

Born and raised in Paris; a medical career was expected of her, but she chose perfumery. In 1985 she trained at the Roure school in Grasse and has since worked at Givaudan for more than 35 years, and in 2017 she became head of its famous perfumery school. She created J'adore for Dior, Tommy Girl for Tommy Hilfiger, Velvet Orchid for Tom Ford and Dylan Blue for Versace, and for Kilian — Intoxicated and Playing With The Devil. She is a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters of France; in 2021 she received a lifetime achievement award from the Fragrance Foundation.

Becker is a master of radiance and femininity. Her floral compositions are bright, generous and joyful — like the golden J'adore, which became the symbol of an entire era. In her niche work for Kilian she shows another, seductive side: fruit, spices and vanilla that sound playful and daring.
