Alexandra Carlin

Names: Alexandra Carlin (English, French) · Олександра Карлін (Ukrainian) · Александра Карлен (Russian)
Born: Paris, France
Specialization: senior perfumer at IFF; author of fragrances for Amouage, Mind Games, Givenchy, Ferrari, BDK Parfums

A Parisian who fell in love with perfumery when she heard a perfumer speak on the radio. In 2002 she entered the ISIPCA school in Versailles, worked for three years at Robertet in Grasse, and in 2007 joined Symrise as a junior perfumer. There she created fragrances for Amouage — notably Honour — Ferrari, Givenchy and other houses, and later moved to IFF. In 2019 she received an award from the Centre for Luxury and Creativity.

Carlin draws inspiration from literature and movement: she “translates” into the language of scent the atmosphere of places and scenes from books. Her compositions are expressive and emotional — flowers, spices, resins and woods come together into lively, poetic stories with a strong character. Each of her fragrances is like a page of a novel.
