Orto Parisi is the perfume house and olfactory manifesto of Alessandro Gualtieri, the scandalous “Nose” who decided to explore the darkest and most animal corners of human nature. The brand, founded in 2014, became a deeply personal tribute to the perfumer's grandfather, Vincenzo Parisi, and his garden in Apulia. The project's philosophy is built on a provocative but honest idea: “The parts of the body that smell the strongest are the places where the soul gathers.” Gualtieri is convinced that modern civilisation has sterilised our perception, making natural smells taboo, so his fragrances are meant to return us to primal instincts.
Every Orto Parisi bottle is a challenge: there are no “clean” notes here, only dense, earthy, musky and animalic accords that recall fertile soil, heated skin and a stormy sea. The legendary Megamare became the benchmark of marine perfumery, conveying not a holiday breeze but a stormy abyss with seaweed and iodine. Another masterpiece, Terroni, celebrates the molten lava of Vesuvius, scorching the senses with smoky and woody notes that symbolise the southern Italian temperament.
The brand's aesthetic complements the content: the massive bottle caps are made of natural materials — copper, horn, wood or even cork impregnated with charcoal. Orto Parisi does not disclose the pyramids of its fragrances, inviting everyone to decipher this biological code for themselves.
This is perfumery not for everyone, but only for those who are ready to accept their animal nature and find beauty in the rough, naked truth of life.
