Vetiver (Réunion)

Vetiver from the Indian Ocean island of Réunion (formerly Île Bourbon) is one of the rarest and most valuable. It was once considered the benchmark, but today very little is grown, so it appears in pyramids only rarely.

Réunion vetiver sounds softer and richer than others: a velvety root, a warm earthiness, a barely sweetish, almost rosy shade and a minimum of smoke. It adds noble depth to a fragrance without harshness.
