“Musk ambrette” is a plant musk obtained from ambrette seeds (Abelmoschus moschatus). The name was once also used for a synthetic molecule, but that was banned long ago; today in perfumery the name means the natural seed oil.
It sounds soft, warm and “skin-like”: musk, a light fruity, faintly pear-like and winey shade. Musk ambrette is one of the most refined natural musks; it makes a fragrance sensual and alive.
