Iris (Morocco)
1 fragrance with this note
Part of accords: Floral, Powdery, Iris, Suede
Morocco grows Iris germanica, whose roots, like Tuscan ones, are dug up, dried and aged for years so that fragrant irones form in them. Moroccan iris is more affordable than Tuscan, so it is often used in modern compositions.
It sounds warmer and earthier: powder, dry root, a light violet and barely carroty shade, less “cold” radiance. Moroccan iris adds depth and a warm, “living” texture to powdery fragrances.
