Note
Clove Leaf
1 fragrance with this note
Part of accords: Warm spicy, Spicy oriental
Clove oil is obtained not only from the buds but also from the leaves of the clove tree. The main aromatic substance in both is the same — eugenol — so they sound alike, but leaf oil is more affordable and simpler.
It sounds drier and sharper than bud oil: a hot spiciness, a barely smoky and woody shade, less sweet “honeyed” depth. Clove leaf adds spicy warmth to a fragrance without sweetness.
