Oud (Laos)
2 fragrances with this note
Part of accords: Woody, Resinous / Balsamic, Oud, Animalic, Oriental, Spicy oriental
A variant of «Oud (Agarwood)»
Laotian: softer, honeyed-fruity, less “animalic”
More about «Oud (Agarwood)» →Laos is home to Aquilaria crassna trees, which yield one of the most precious ouds in the world. As everywhere, the fragrant resin forms only when a tree defends itself against a fungus for years, so genuine Laotian oud is a great rarity.
It sounds softer and lighter than Indian oud: warm resinous wood, honey, dried fruit, a light smokiness and very little “animalic” sharpness. Laotian oud is an elegant, “silky” oud that pairs easily with rose and saffron.
